For the past year, the world has been forced into a new era of doing things over the internet.

Schools went to a full virtual learning platform.

Corporate workspaces became vacant as employees started working from home.

And businesses shut down due to not being able to pay the bills.

But, what’s not surprising is that when these businesses couldn’t keep people employed, a lot of people decided to look for work elsewhere — Online Marketing.

Online marketing has become a hotspot for a lot of people around the world and it’s even been causing some platforms to rethink how they manage their systems. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and even Pinterest all started beefing up their systems due to the massive influx of people that started spending more time in their systems.

Even with all the changes that have happened over the past year, there’s been a lot of positives that have come from those changes.

Those that decided to take up online marketing due to the pandemic have seen a different side of success. For some (like us), we were already in that world and starting to put in a foundation for our businesses.

Even those that were seasoned online marketers, as well as those that were starting out brand new in the online marketing world, trying to be successful in this world has its challenges.

To be successful in any internet based opportunity, you must KNOW that you are there to serve others first. Prospects can smell commission breath a mile away and it kills the conversation almost immediately.

If you understand attraction marketing and providing value, then you likely already know more than 99.9% of people in your niche!

This is because most people don’t have any sort of formal training and so they get into a program that is designed to help them make money and they just start promoting it all over the place.

However, when it comes to being truly successful in the online marketing world, there’s a few things that you should ultimately do, five of them to be exact.

The five things you should so are:

Get Excited About Your Business

You don’t need to be a “guru” or an expert to put yourself out there! The first step to being irresistible to almost everyone you talk to is to get excited about your business. Believe in what you DO know and teach it to people.

When you get excited about what you are working on, it shows in every aspect of your business. Your videos, your copy, and even your conversations. When people see how excited you are about what you are working on they are going to ultimately start to trust that you know what you’re talking about. That’s when they start to follow you and keep coming back for more.

Differentiate Yourself

Putting your “training wheels” on when you first start and follow in someone else's footsteps is completely okay! We all need to be able to follow someone else and get that experience under our belts. And, it’s really smart to find someone who’s done exactly what you want to do and be mentored by them.

But, as time goes on, you don’t need to turn yourself into exactly who they are. There’s already one of them, the world isn’t ready for another one just like them. What you need to do is be yourself and bring your own spin to things. Differentiate yourself from the pack and be your own person.

Once you find your voice, be that voice for yourself and never look back. Even if the road gets rough, just be yourself and push through. People will learn who you are and eventually will follow you because of YOU, not because of who you learned from.

Take Consistent Action

Taking consistent action is not just about doing something over and over. As Albert Einstein says, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”. What you need to do is take consistent action and TRACK your results.

By tracking your results, you will be able to improve on whatever it is that you need to improve on. If you are not tracking those results, you aren’t actually going to push yourself to do more. What you’ll find is that you’ll think you’re doing okay when in reality you are doing so poorly that you don’t even realize it. Take that consistent action and take action on your tracking so you know exactly where you are and where you need/want to be.

Play The Long Game

Not everyone will buy right away. This is normal.

The biggest mistake a lot of marketers will make is that they’ll either quite or move to another thing right before their breakthough. They feel like they haven’t had the success that others are having and they think something is wrong. I’m here to tell you that nothing is wrong and you’re doing exactly what you’re designed to do. But, that’s not up to me, it’s up to you.

You see, the normal customer has to see something 5–7 times before they even think about buying. This is because most of them haven’t made the decision to buy right away. If they know that they are ready to buy something, then it’s likely you’ll see that happen right on the first or second showing.

So, it’s up to you to continue to follow up on those leads. Stick it out for the long run and double down on what you’re working on. In the end, it’s going to be worth it.

Be Curious (But not TOO curious)

One thing that is great about being an entrepreneur is that we see opportunity everywhere. But, that’s also one of the worst parts about being an entrepreneur. There are a lot of different ways to make money as an entrepreneur and sometimes that can lead us astray from our goals and dreams. All the new shiny things out there can make it seem like it’s the next best thing out there. But, it could be what’s holding you back as well.

With that being said, don’t be afraid to test out new ideas without permission. Don’t wait for someone to give you the go-ahead. The market will let you know if it works or not. Just make sure that whatever you are going to try isn’t going to take away from the bottom line. Don’t let those new things make you take focus off of your main goal and your main method of operation.

If you have an idea on something that might bring more value to the marketplace, then give it some effort and do a test run. See how people react to it and how the market perceives it. That way you don’t sink a ton of time into something that people either weren’t ready for, or were past that point already.

All in all, you want to start empowering yourself to get in the driver’s seat. Take control of your destiny and don’t let anyone hold you back. Don’t wait for people to tell you what to do, and make sure you are staying persistent and consistent.

That goes for any opportunity, really.

Lastly, I do want to cover a very important point here. In the online marketing world there will be times that a program or platform won’t be the best choice for your marketing any longer. That’s why it’s important to build an email list and have a list of people that you can market any opportunity to at any time. With this, you end up having the best chances to stay productive and profitable in any endeavor.

Well, I hope that’s been informative for you and that you learned something here. As always, feel free to reach out if you have questions or need anything. We may not be able to help you with everything you do, but we do have a great deal of experience in many areas in life.

Have a wonderful day!
